Celebrating diversity in the magic of children's stories

On September 21, the presentation of the collection of children's stories "Árbol de Papel" took place in the General Auditorium of the University of Azuay. This initiative, carried out by the University Publishing House with the support of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Cuenca, brought together various authorities, professors and educational institutions.

The "Paper Tree" collection, created by author Sonia Criollo, is a proposal that seeks to promote a new perspective on disability, based on empathy, respect and gratitude towards diversity. This collection includes five children's stories that implicitly present characters inspired by five children with disabilities.

In addition to telling stories, these stories are an invitation to open our hearts and allow each character to teach us the beauty of diversity. Through these stories, readers will travel and meet fantasy characters with unique shapes.

"They are children's stories that not only tell stories, but also weave invisible threads that unite souls and awaken sensitivity," highlighted Genoveva Malo, Academic Vice-Rector of the University. This launch represents a significant step towards promoting inclusion and the importance of empathy.
