Farewell tribute to Professor Diego Jaramillo
Diego Jaramillo, university professor during 35 years, was honored with a farewell exhibition by his colleagues, students and graduates of the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Art after having reached the end of his career as a teacher.
During this long time, Diego, architect, designer and artist, as he is called, has not separated from the university nor has he ceased his creation as an artist, researcher and academic.
He entered the School of Museology and 33 years ago, together with Patricio León and Guido Álvarez, made the creation of the Design career a reality.
The tribute was made to the April 6 in the Permanent Gallery of the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Art.
The Dean, Genoveva Malo, began the evening by addressing some words to her colleague: "We welcome you to this act full of symbolism, affection and gratitude, in which we recognize the trajectory of our colleague, friend, teacher and, in my case personal, and sure of many more, to whom he has been a great mentor. What an honor for me, that I was trained in these classrooms, to be able today to express the enormous gratitude to who taught us to love the design deeply ".
Then an agreement was delivered with which the Faculty Council recognized and thanked their work.
The School of Interior Design, which was the closest place to Diego in recent years, was present with the presentation of a recognition as a sign of affection and gratitude.
The Center for Heuristics of the FADU, of the University of Buenos Aires, sent a letter in which they congratulated the honoree and where they pointed out that they wish to continue with the academic relations.
Jaramillo spoke to those present to thank the show of affection, dedicated a poem to his table that has accompanied him during his career and made the delivery of the original of his latest production, a book on morphology, design and art.
"Now I will dedicate time to my family, to painting, to research, to rest and to my gallery Sala Adentro, which was inaugurated in February. I will continue with the cultural production and working in the University Symposium. I say goodbye with immense love of what was my home for so long, "said Jaramillo.
Finally, Francisco Salgado, Rector of the University, was in charge of making the toast.
The exhibition has different works by Diego Jaramillo such as paintings, sketches, articles, books, projects and his work table to those who appreciate it so much.
