Universidad del Azuay Promotes Healthy Coexistence Through Ethics and Prevention Workshops

During the week of September 5 to 9, a series of workshops were held aimed at promoting healthy coexistence among its academic community. The events, which brought together 520 teachers, addressed fundamental topics such as the code of ethics, the protocol for action in cases of violence and harassment in the UDA, gender violence and the prevention of violence in the university environment. The main objective of the initiative was to promote a safer, more inclusive and respectful university environment for all its members.

The Code of Ethics, which was one of the central topics of the workshops, establishes the principles and values that should guide the conduct of members of the university community. During the sessions, common ethical situations in academia were discussed and guidelines were provided to address them appropriately.

In the same way, the Protocol for Complaints of Harassment, Discrimination and Violence in the UDA is a fundamental tool to prevent and address situations of this type. Teaching assistants received training on how to identify, report and act in cases of violence or harassment, thus ensuring a safe and trusting environment for students.

Gender violence and violence prevention at the university were also highlighted topics in the workshops. Participants explored the importance of gender equality and the need to eliminate any form of gender-based violence in the university environment.

The workshops included the active participation of teachers, who shared their experiences and perspectives on these critical issues.
