New views of the Ecuadorian heritage

On Wednesday 10 of July, the academic event "Modernity: New perspectives of the Ecuadorian heritage" was presented at Casa de las Palomas, headquarters of the National Institute of Cultural Heritage (INPC). Identification and valuation of the urban-architectural heritage of Ecuador, of which the University of Azuay will participate.

Based on the Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement between the INPC and UDA, work has been carried out jointly with the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Art in processes aimed at constructing inputs for identification and assessment of Modern Architecture in Ecuador, specifically on the work of the Uruguayan architect Gilberto Gatto Sobral.

Aware of the importance of generating these inputs and heritage assessment tools, so that they can be used and implemented by different actors at the national level, we have seen the need to carry out the academic event that will take place between the 6 and 8 in November.

The purpose of the meeting is to publicize the research related to the generation and validation of tools and instruments for documentation, identification and valuation of this heritage.

This event will constitute a space for dialogue and reflection on modern heritage in Ecuador and will be a seminar-workshop aimed at students, professors, professionals and researchers, both locally and nationally.

Those interested in participating can register from the 15 in July, through the website of the University www.uazuay.edu.ec.
