The June 24, in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Science and Technology, presented the project of linkage with society '' Accompaniment of English for teachers of rural schools ''.

The main objective of this proposal is to reinforce the knowledge in the subjects of Mathematics and English of the children of the 20 School in April, which is located in the parish of Jima, within the community Zhipta, in the canton Sigsig.

The event was attended by Francisco Salgado, Rector of the University; Andrés López, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology; Magdalena Abril, Southern District Director of the Ministry of Education; David Duchitanga, President of the Ludo Parish Council; Raúl Morocho, President of the parish board of Jima; Magaly Artega, Director of the Language Unit; James Freedman, delegate of Cambridge, and the members of the decentralized autonomous governments of Jima and Ludo.

The Rector of the UDA was in charge of initiating the event with a few words of welcome in which he stressed the importance of mastering various branches of knowledge such as mathematics, science and languages ​​other than Spanish.

Then, the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology said that the University "will start work with the 20 school in April and six more educational institutions in the Jima and Ludo parishes; The project will consist of linking with the teachers of these schools to improve the knowledge of children in areas such as mathematics and English. "

Then, the District Director of the South said: "The new educational processes insist on improving the quality of teaching by placing the student at the center of the process and the pedagogical as a catalyst for learning."

April thanked the Universidad del Azuay and the students who will provide assistance to schools located in isolated areas of the city.

The Director of the Language Unit of the UDA explained that the project will be based on a training that will be held every Saturday with the teachers of the 20 school in April, which will be divided into two parts:

In the first, teachers will be helped to develop language skills. "We have signed an agreement with Cambridge Learning Management System (CLMS), which will provide us with all the content through its digital platform."

The second part will consist in the instruction of the most appropriate methodologies to improve the level of English.

At the end of the event, Raúl Morocho, President of the parish council of Jima, thanked the project of the University in the parishes of Jima and Ludo.
