Course of photovoltaic generation

Course of photovoltaic generation

The School of Electronics Engineering - in conjunction with the CELEC EP - carried out the 5 and 6 of June the course of Photovoltaic Generation.

The case study of pre feasibility study for floating photovoltaic generation in the Mazar reservoir, with a nominal power of the 159.000kWn plant, was discussed at the meeting.

The course included the work of the consultant team composed of Vincent Burgmeier, director of the study; Freddy Ordóñez and Diego Suárez, as specialists in renewable energies; Verónica Villacís, environmental specialist, and architect Patricia Almeida.

"As electronic engineers we can not be separated from the environmental problem that afflicts the world, it is necessary that this type of technologies for the generation of clean energy be taken into account by society," said Career Coordinator, Daniel Iturralde.

Photovoltaic solar energy is an energy obtained from the use of electromagnetic radiation from the sun. Therefore, it is considered a renewable energy and a viable alternative to effect the energy consumption in our city.

"The photovoltaic generation project to be created can supply up to 75% of the electricity in the city of Cuenca. This type of projects and others in the future will allow the country to advance technologically and support for the implementation of them is the best, "concluded Iturralde.
