Towards an energy transition

Towards an energy transition

On November 17, the first event was held to discuss the challenges and opportunities of an energy transition in the country.

It is a structural change in energy systems, to achieve systems with high efficiency from energy production with renewable sources and the use of digital technologies that allow sustainable human development and environmental protection.

The event was organized by the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology in coordination with the Ecuadorian Association of Professionals with Studies in the Federal Republic of Germany (AEPEA).

José Jara, one of the organizers of the event, assured that the activities that are being developed in the Faculty are a contribution towards this transition, and that they position the University of Azuay as a pioneering educational institution in energy research.

The objective of these conferences is to create a space for dialogue and exchange of ideas between academia, private and public companies, and civil society in general, in order to promote an energy transition from our personal spaces and contribute to a local, regional change and national.

150 people from various parts of the country and the world participated in Tuesday's talk; It was aimed at students, teachers, researchers and all those interested in the subject.

The participation of national and international authorities and scientists was also attended, such as the Vice Minister of Electricity, the director of the energy sector of the German-Ecuadorian Chamber of Commerce, a research professor from the Carlos III University of Madrid and the manager of Elecaustro.
