Day dedicated to energy efficiency

Day dedicated to energy efficiency

On October 28, the Faculty of Science and Technology organized two talks dedicated to the efficient use of energy.

In the morning, Raúl Peláez, Doctor in Biological and Agricultural Engineering invited by the Faculty, spoke about the energy challenges for the local industry and highlighted the low efficiency of the use of fuels in the industries.

In the afternoon, within the framework of the Knowledge and Culture Conference, the School of Automotive Engineering proposed the theme of energy efficiency in the transport sector, with the speaker Michael Giraldo, Doctor of Engineering Sciences.

Giraldo spoke about the relationship between energy efficiency and the environment, efficient consumption strategies, and existing job opportunities in this area.

According to the speaker, there is research that shows that the industrial sector with the highest CO2 emissions is transport, therefore, it highlights the need to implement energy efficiency strategies to reduce polluting emissions from this sector.

Robert Rockwood, Coordinator of the School of Automotive Engineering, mentioned to conclude that "there is still a lot of work to do, I am sure that future automotive engineers will be able to open change in the future."
