The El Gullan property is declared a Scientific Station

The University Council of the University of Azuay declared the El Gullán property, located in the community of La Paz, in the sub-basin of the León River, of the Nabón canton, as a Scientific Station.

The property of 140 hectares takes its name from an abundant fruit in the sector, from the family of the Pasifloras.

This place contains a great diversity of flora and fauna: endemic species of frogs, beesorchids, mosses and birds make this space suitable for cross-sectional and longitudinal scientific studies.

Currently El Gullan is the headquarters of eight research projects of the School of Biology, Ecology and Management of the University, which include the measurement, observation, and analysis of factors such as pollination, the adaptation of species to climate and several studies. longitudinals on the evolution of certain species over time.

The recently named El Gullán Scientific Station opens its doors to students, teachers and researchers to apply their knowledge and research in projects that need this ecological and diverse environment
