New equipment for the Food Engineering career

On August 4, new equipment arrived at the University of Azuay destined for the Food Engineering career.

Through an agreement between the UDA and the Elecaustro company, it was possible to purchase five machines: cocoa bean roaster, derailer, refiner, colloidal mill, chocolate tempering.

All these equipment are to process cocoa and turn it into chocolate, within the framework of the project "Strengthening the Value Chain of the Chocolate Industry in the Zhuncay, Cañar site" which aims to train associations in that area.

"Through this project, what we are going to do, both teachers and students, is go to Zhuncay to do trainings," said María Fernanda Rosales, School Coordinator, and added:

"With the teams now in the UDA we are going to bring a group of people who belong to the associations so that they can be trained within the University."
