From the 8 to the 12 July, the Smart Mobility course and the International Energy Congress were held in the General Auditorium, with the support of the Latin American Research Network on Energy and Vehicles (RELIEVE) and the Ecuadorian Corporation for the Development of Research. and the Academy (CEDIA).

RELIEVE was born in 2017 and is made up of university institutions in Latin America that work on energy, vehicles and environment issues; Its purpose is to strengthen collaboration for the development of joint research projects, strengthen scientific dissemination and increase the training of human talent, through specialized training in the work of the network and academic exchange among its participants.

The Smart Mobility course and the International Energy Congress are two side events of RELIEVE, which for the third consecutive year brings together undergraduate and graduate students, research professors and members of companies from our countries in order to strengthen our ties.

Previous venues were Monterrey, Pereira and now Cuenca. The University of Azuay was the host of this event, where it received almost 30 national and international experts, as well as more than 250 participants, from 5 countries.

Smart mobility refers to the use of information technologies to improve the mobility of people and products, reducing environmental impact, improving productivity and generating well-being for people. It is a multidisciplinary topic that involves the engineering, social, economic and health sciences.

The International Energy Congress highlighted the thematic areas of the use and transformation of energy, vehicles and transport, sustainable and intelligent mobility, emissions and fuel and biofuel air quality and energy efficiency.

"Within the Latin American Research Network, that atmosphere of camaraderie and collaboration is always felt, and that is what we seek: to know, to share what we are doing in the different universities to create a national and international union in the proposal of projects and works that really have an impact on society ", Daniel Cordero, member of the event's organizing team and professor at the School of Automotive Engineering.
