Talk about the future of radio

In the framework of the 30 years of the School of Communication, on Thursday, 24, in January, visited the Spanish teachers Chusé Fernández and Luis Miguel Pedrero, who spoke with the teacher of the Jorge Piedra School about the changes in radio in the digital age.

Pedrero began his presentation by stating that radio was forced to transform its nature as a medium in a time when we are all connected to the mobile phone:

"We are talking about screens, from the screen of a cell phone, that implies that the radio is first seen and then heard; we should talk about a visual radio ".

Fernández agreed that radio, as a medium consumed by a listener, was dying of aging:

"We must optimize the work and offer complementary content to traditional programs because the consumer stops being a listener to become a consumer of content."

Finally, Jorge Piedra reflected that this "visual radio" implies that students, when arriving at the subjects of radio production, should have knowledge of graphic design, video and management of social networks.
