Exhibition gala of red carpet dresses

On Friday night 29 June the hotel Four Points By Sheraton was filled with glamor and elegance with the exhibition gala of red carpet dresses, organized by the student representation of the School of Textile Design and Fashion.

The dresses were made by the students of the sixth cycle, as a preliminary project to obtain a qualification in the subject of pattern making.

"Every year the results were shown in the courtyard of the UDA but this year the student representation of the career of Textile Design and Fashion, we had the initiative to take the exhibition of the University so that it does not remain alone as a job more if not give it the importance it deserves, "said Arianna Saquisilí, president of the School of Textile and Fashion Design.

The parade was held in the hotel lobby, one by one the models paraded with almost exact replicas of the dresses worn by renowned celebrities in international red carpets.

“I am happy and satisfied with the work we do, we were inspired by designs that have already appeared on the red carpet and each student chose the one that seemed most convenient, for example my replica is by Gwyneth Paltrow, which was worn at the Oscars at the 2015, and the most difficult challenge for me was to do it the way it appeared on the red carpet ”, expressed María Belén Astudillo, speaker.

"In my opinion, everything went excellent, considering the fact that the organization was purely of students and that we did not receive any help from the university, besides we changed a little the thought that because we are students we can not aspire to do big things from already, "said Arianna.

In total they were exhibited around 45 dresses, with professional and semi-professional models; The dresses were extremely elaborate and many of them were a faithful copy of the originals seen from each of the details.

"I think it is important to give importance to this type of project because we are accustomed to having the jobs remain within the walls of the University and that means that students do not make an effort or do not motivate themselves to give their best, as students we can give much more than what we are used to, we just need the opportunities to show that we are capable, "concluded the president of the School of Textile and Fashion Design.
