International Renewable Energy Congress

The November 6 was held at the General Auditorium of the University of Azuay the inauguration of the I International Congress of Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency, organized in collaboration with the University of Cuenca and the Salesian Polytechnic University.

The congress was aimed at teachers, researchers, professionals, students and the general public, interested in this topic of great relevance at international and local level.

Francisco Salgado, Rector of the UDA, emphasized during the inauguration the importance of promoting knowledge in this area to generate projects that contribute to society in harmony with natural resources.

The main objectives of the event were to promote national, international cooperation and generate discussion among specialists in the area; favor progress in theoretical and applied areas in relation to the subject, and update those present on the most current trends in renewable energy and energy efficiency.

According to María José Bermeo, student of Environmental Engineering of the Salesian Polytechnic University, these congresses give the opportunity for students and professionals to relate to the new types of energy: “It is vital that the importance of changing the energy matrix to renewable energy is known for the sustainable and sustainable benefit of society ”.

The closing of the congress was the November 8 in the General Auditorium. Esteban Crespo, a professor at the UDA School of Systems, addressed those present to congratulate the participants of this event and invited the students to the TIC.EC congress organized by the School of Administration.

Following the words of Crespo, the speakers were summoned on stage to take a collective photo and then invite all students and assistants to go to the exterior of the library "Hernán Malo" to take another picture with all who were part of the Congress
