Management professors present research in Washington

From 24 to 28 in July, teachers from the Faculty of Science of the Administration Esteban Crespo, Catalina Astudillo and Juan Manuel Maldonado participated as exhibitors in the tenth edition of the International Congress on Applied Human Factors (AHFE) held in Washington, United States.

The professors showed the results of their research based on the development of an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning).

'' This serves to create platforms where companies can acquire not so expensive, since a computer program is over a million dollars and the small business owner cannot afford it, '' Maldonado explained.

With the research, the University seeks to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to create platforms with cheaper computer systems.

'' It is a project that will be maintained over time. For now it is research, but we want it to flourish permanently. We want to create spaces for the University to have links with small organizations that are not able to acquire a commercial, '' said Astudillo.

On the other hand, Crespo presented the results of his research entitled `` Guidelines for the construction of a software and project management of an ISMS (Information Security Management System) based on the methodology ECU @ Risk ''.

'' I am working on a methodology for information assurance. The model was developed at the University and serves to provide adequate security when there is a computer risk in Ecuador's business sector, '' said the engineer.

In his research he writes that one of the reasons why companies do not have a risk management plan is due to the lack of budget, complexity and lack of knowledge of it.

The congress had six working modalities: keynote presentations, parallel assemblies, demonstration sessions, tutorials, banners and meetings with social interest groups.
