Summit of Foreign Trade and International Business

The inaugural act of the 1st International Trade and International Business Summit was held at the 12 in June at the General Auditorium of the UDA, within the framework of the 10 years of founding of the International Business and Commerce Club of the Faculty of Legal Sciences.

"For the university these events are of great importance. We are convinced that beyond training professionals, we form human beings capable of transforming society and when students organize an event it is really a demonstration of that, "said Martha Cobos, Academic Vice-Chancellor, at the opening of the event.

"At the end of this summit, we will surely draw up a road map that will allow us to renew the vision and modernization of strategies and concepts, setting coincidences and experiences towards certain groups for Ecuador in times of globalization and enormous competitiveness," he said. José Chalco Quezada, Dean of the Faculty of Legal Sciences. 

The congress, held for the first time in the city of Cuenca, was developed from the 12 to the 14 in June, with talks and workshops by 14 national and international exhibitors. At the same time, students and professors attended both the University of Azuay and the universities of Loja, Machala and Quito.

During the conferences, topics such as international strategy and commercial policy, negotiation strategies with Asia Pacific, internationalization of MSMEs, how the Ecuadorian economy has behaved in recent years and its projections for the future, line of international research and exploratory analysis of the commercial opening of Ecuador against Peru and Colombia.

Other topics were the construction and positioning of the Mucho Mejor Ecuador brand, the international logistics trend to the 2025 and international negotiation techniques, the functional units of the harmonized system of codification and classification of goods, digital innovation in the agricultural sector, and Business intelligence and neuromarketig.

"The best thing of all is that this summit allows us to broaden the perspective of all the participants, giving a new vision of what we should and can do for our well-being, that of our families and that of the entire city. I ask myself and I ask you how not to do it with these interesting topics, "said Franco Zúñiga, representative of the Acadía.

On the other hand, workshops were held on business in the fourth industrial revolution, digital advertising tools for internationalization of products, why we should forget the hierarchical order in teamwork, how to make China a business opportunity, orange economy, customs legislation and operations, customs regimes, obligations of the AAA.

"A space with a different methodology, a space in which you as attendees can enjoy, increase their knowledge, undertake new projects in which they will be given an opportunity to all to promote and project at a higher level, but above all to project themselves to a highest academic level ", concluded Adriana Monje, Director of the Club of Commerce and International Business.
