Taylor Spring 2025 Program

On February 2nd, the University of Azuay, together with its Departments of International Relations and Continuing Education, held the event "Taylor Spring 2025 Program", an event in harmony with Objectives of Sustainable Development.

The event counted with the presence of authorities, professors and students of the Taylor Spring 2025 Program and general public.

Students from Taylor University will remain on our campus from today, February 7th, until May 9th of this year; they will receive classes in Physiology, Ecology and History. In addition, one student will carry out research practices in the Entomology laboratory and two students will carry out internships at the CEIAP.

To start the event, Genoveva Malo Toral, Academic Vice-Rector, welcomed all the students and expressed how happy they were to have them on campus. She mentioned that this would not only be an academic experience for them but also a cultural one, where they would make many friends and learn new things. She also hoped they would feel like part of the university community and enjoy the campus, as it is surrounded by nature.

Afterward, María de Lourdes Larrea, Executive Director of the Taylor Foundation – Ecuador, addressed the audience and stated that Taylor University was honored to have an 18-year relationship with Universidad del Azuay, welcoming students every semester for academic and cultural enrichment, which is essential for their education. She concluded her speech by thanking Universidad del Azuay.

To conclude the event, Marcelo Calle, Director of International Relations, welcomed the guests from Taylor University and wish them the best in their academic and cultural journey in Cuenca. He also welcomed back eight Universidad del Azuay students who studied English at Taylor University in January, emphasizing the value of their experience. He closed by highlighting the importance of internationalization in fostering diversity, global connections, and mutual understanding for a more inclusive society.

Subsequently, the institutional jackets were given as gifts to the students of the Taylor Spring 2025 Program.
