University of Azuay launches the UDA Book app with more than 350 works

La University of Azuay launched the mobile app UDA Book, a free digital platform which makes available to the public more than 350 works from his Publishing House.

The objective is promote reading and bring it closer to new generations through technological tools.

The application brings together content from literature, social sciences, art, design, architecture and languages. It is envisioned as a constantly growing library, as it will incorporate a new book every week.

The initiative is part of the Sustainable Development Goals, by promoting access to knowledge and education.

Presentation

The launch event, which took place in November 2025, brought together university authorities, faculty, administrative staffIn addition, students from the University of Azuay, as well as authorities and students from eight colleges and general public.

Francisco Salgado, the rector, emphasized that reading has taken on various forms throughout history and that UDA Book represents a new step in that evolution.

He invited the students to read fiction as a means to stimulate the imagination and open new perspectives, and congratulated the team responsible for developing the application.
