The National Secretariat of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (Senescyt) and the Development Bank of Ecuador (BDE) have signed a credit agreement with the University of Azuay (UDA) for 1,9 million dollars, through the Program of Financing for Institutions of the Higher Education System (Proeduca), aimed at improving its technological infrastructure. Francisco Salgado, rector of the UDA, said that the credit money will equip a virtual campus with state-of-the-art technology. The eCUB-Campus Baños project was presented at the event, a work to which the loan is focused.

Felipe Andrade, project manager, explained that eCUB will have 15 laboratories, 82 classrooms and a capacity to receive more than 2.000 students. The construction area corresponds to 18 thousand square meters and the term of execution of the project is 24 months, according to a statement from the Senescyt.

Proeduca has signed agreements with universities: Carchi Polytechnic, Milagro National Polytechnic, Central, Ambato Technique and Otavalo, delivering more than 23 million dollars.
