UDA, for the primary road
In an interesting discussion on "Primary Roads in Azuay", promoted by the College of Civil Engineers of Azuay CICA, last Thursday, September 30, with the participation of the Regional Undersecretary of the MTOP, Director of Roads of Azuay, President of the Chamber of Tourism, UCUENCA and UDA, agreed on the scarce resources that the province receives for its roads, which do not allow adequate maintenance to the detriment of mobility and the normal development of daily activities, tourism, commerce and industry.
The president of CICA, Ing. Galo Delgado, at the beginning of the event pointed out that the public concern for the road deterioration in the Cuenca-Molleturo-Puerto Inca, constitutes a news trend in social networks, newspapers and radio stations, expressing their annoyance and indignation at the abandonment of the Azuay and Region highways.
Eng. Juan Avilés, UCUENCA Roadway expert, deplores that the limitation of resources has led to anti-technical solutions for the roads of the Austro, without planning, which sooner or later take their toll, increase the cost of maintenance and with a poor service to users, limiting the economic growth of the province. For this reason, it proposes a joint work, joining institutional efforts.
The Econ. Enrique Serrano, a long-time professional, after presenting statistics of resources delivered to the different provinces in amounts completely higher than Azuay in the period 2007-2018, urges all citizens to claim this reprehensible discrimination with courage and arrogance.
The president of the Chamber of Tourism, Ing. Juan Pablo Vanegas, detailed the immense losses registered by the landslide of Km 49, not only in the days of closure of the main access to the coast, but in the following weeks because the event generated distrust and fear of coming to Cuenca, despite being a favorite destination for tourists.
The flattering news of the event was the formation of the "Group for Research, Analysis and Proposals for the Azuay Highway GIAPVÍA-UDA", appointed by the Rector of the UDA Dr. Francisco Salgado, to contribute decisively to the improvement of the Azuaya highway .
