Triathlete Paula Vega gets Olympic scholarship Paris 2024

The Azuaya triathlete Paula Vega was awarded one of the 10 Olympic scholarships awarded by the Olympic Solidarity program. The Ecuadorian Olympic Committee, COE, considering the different sports, nominated its most outstanding young exponents with a great projection and who have little support to achieve their dreams. 

The Paris 2024 Scholarship will finance the preparation of athletes in their goal of seeking the ticket to the 33rd edition of the Olympic Games that will take place in three years in the Parisian capital. 

Among the benefits covered by the Olympic scholarship are those concentrated in training camps, trips to specific or qualifying events; and the hiring of coaches or an interdisciplinary team. All subject to a monthly value approved by the COI, and that will be executed through the COE. 

Vega, 19, was fifth in the Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games 2018, she is the South American youth runner-up, she was a bronze medalist at the absolute level entering the top 5. She studies Business Administration at the University of Azuay, she is in the third semester .
