A map to regulate noise in Cuenca is presented

This Monday 22 of April of 2019 the Municipality of Cuenca presented the updated noise map in 2018 Basin and environmental guides, according to authorities the 70 percent of noise in the city comes from vehicular traffic.

The map, updated up to the 2018, defines the industrial, commercial and residential zones, with the respective permissible noise levels.

The director of CGA, Catalina Albán, He stressed that in the administration of 2017-2019 he developed an integral work in different axes such as animal care, noise monitoring, control of the emission of gases from factories, Medical attention of domestic animals operative of the sale of souls among others.

This instrument, which was carried out in partnership with the University of Azuay and Cuenca, will allow the CGA Cuenca Environmental Management Commission to control environmental contamination.

For this, a monitoring was carried out using sound level meters and the implementation of 10 remote sensors that allowed the continuous recording of sound emission in real time.

Francisco Salgado rector of the University of Azuay, stated that this joint work will allow to count a material that It will be useful for students and citizens in general andto which they will have technical tools on the correct handling of the rivers animals and the advances in the environmental issue.
