First PhD in Natural Resources

First PhD in Natural Resources

The Council of Higher Education (CES) approved the Doctoral Program in Renewable Natural Resources that will be dictated at the University of Cuenca and will be associated with the University of Azuay, therefore, for the first time in Ecuador, a doctorate will be offered in that branch of science.

Andrés Alvarado, director of the program, explained that the doctorate will delve into two lines of study: renewable energy and biodiversity conservation. And within this will be the proper management of hydrographic basins, knowledge of endemic species and their conservation, and the study and development of strategies to face the consequences of climate change.
