They improve UDA facilities and make them inclusive

The University of Azuay performs an integral intervention of the buildings where the faculties of Administration Sciences and Philosophy worked as part of the complete modernization plan of its infrastructure and equipment.

Fernando Córdova, Planning Director, informed that two fundamental interventions are carried out in these buildings: the first is to change all spaces to LED technology and the installation of elevator towers complying with the norm of giving accessibility to people with disabilities.

"This was an imminent need in our institution and this will also allow us to qualify better in accreditation processes," said Córdova, noting that the elevator tower facilities represent an investment of about $ 200 thousand dollars.

The works also consist of the internal remodeling of the blocks such as the change of ceiling, walls and arrangement of doors and windows.

In addition, with the purpose of becoming an inclusive space in its entirety, the bathrooms of all buildings are also being renovated to include sanitary batteries for people with disabilities.

To these works is added the creation of a square in front of the Faculty of Administration as a meeting space and the internal renovation of the main Auditorium that includes the arrangement of floors, the renovation of seats and the modernization of the electrical and electronic part.

Córdova explained that these tasks are carried out taking advantage of the holiday season and it is expected that all facilities are operational for the start of classes, the September 16.
