Cuenca's faces in the Government

This will be the fifth time in the country's Republican history that a man from Cuenca assumes the position of vice president of the Republic. Before that, Mariano Cueva did it in 1861, Antonio Borrero in 1863, Rosalía Arteaga in 1996 and Alejandro Serrano Aguilar in 2005.

Borrero is a doctor by profession and will be in charge of vaccination plan, whose goal is to reach 9 million immunized people in the first 100 days of government. He has also been charged with matters related to the Austro, such as the recent floods in Cuenca.

At Presidential cabinet, three names occupy positions in the team close to President Lasso: Marcelo Cabrera as Minister of Transportation and Public Works, Bernarda Ordóñez as Secretary of Human Rights and Fabián Pozo as Legal Secretary of the Presidency.

Cabrera previously served as prefect of Azuay, mayor of Cuenca and until recently as an assemblyman. He is a civil engineer by profession and in the private sphere he was linked to public works, precisely on road issues.

Ordonez, lawyer and defender of women's rights, is one of the youngest letters of the Government, with 30 years of age, and with a trajectory that has included advising in the National Assembly and the direction of foundations in the social field.

Well is lawyer, graduated from the Universidad del Azuay, and has a master's degree in Law from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a founding partner of the firm Gottifredi Pozo Abogados, university teaching and specializes in telecommunications, banking, Internet business, and data.
