Waste pickers complete training at the UDA

The recyclers of Cuenca received a certificate endorsed by the University and the EMAC for their update work that lasted 12 hours. 

At the University of Azuay, UDA, the delivery of certificates to 100 recyclers and recyclers, Cuenca who participated in a course of 12 hours.


In conjunction with the EMAC, the house of higher education, had the goal of feeding the work done by recyclers through a program to strengthen their intrapersonal, interpersonal and organizational skills, said Francisco Salgado, rector of the UDA.


Leonardo Guerrero, representative of the EMAC mentioned that this program will increase the self-esteem and capacities of those who are dedicated to the important recycling activity in the city.


Bertha Chalco, coordinator of the national network of waste pickers in the country, added "these trainings have helped us to get to know each other better, and strengthen the organizations through communication." (I)
