Marissa Tamayo from Cuenca is champion with Delfín SC in the Amateur Women's League

Marissa Tamayo, from Cuenca, won with Delfín SC the title of the Women's Amateur Soccer League Series A, organized by the National Amateur Soccer Commission (CONFA), attached to the Ecuadorian Soccer Federation.

The cetacean team lost 1-2 in the first leg final, but this Saturday they turned the page and won 1-3 as visitors at the Rafael Vera Yépez Stadium, in Babahoyo. “We did what the teacher (Jhon Paucar) told us and the arch was finally opened for us.”

Delfin SC is based in Manta, but the team trained in Portoviejo, the technical director's native province. Tamayo, 19, signed for two seasons with the Manabi club, after winning the 2019 Women's Super League title with Deportivo Cuenca.

“I think I have established myself a lot in this team, I already have two seasons, in the first we were in third place and now we have finally been able to be champions”, says the Accounting and Auditing student from the University of Azuay.

Due to his face-to-face studies, his life moves between Cuenca-Portoviejo-Cuenca. Only on vacation does she concentrate with her classmates. In these years she feels that she has improved a lot in her confidence, she speaks more on the court, she is better in the air and plays more with her feet.

Delfín SC is not yet classified for the Women's Super League, but it is on the right track. Due to the new system, you will have to animate a new stage with representatives from other provinces to achieve the final goal. (BST)-(D)
