Industry will receive academic contributions

The Academic Research Network of Ecuador, CEDIA, and the Chamber of Industries Production and Employment, CIPEM, signed yesterday an agreement whose objective is that academic researchers get involved in the needs and problems that exist in industries so that, in turn, , provide solutions.

Andrés Robalino, executive director of CIPEM, explained that the agreement is part of the CEDIA Challenge that seeks the link between academia and industry to improve research in Ecuador and for this it is necessary to have a technology transfer, with new prototypes and new products.

"That the companies present real problems and the universities contribute with solutions", stressed Robalino. The next step is for entrepreneurs to become familiar with the program and start working with the UDA, the University of Cuenca and the Salesiana Polytechnic.
