Guide to trauma and other emergencies has a hospital

"Model for the implementation of a system of trauma, emergencies and intensive surgical care". This is the name of the guide created by specialists from different areas of the "Vicente Corral Moscoso" hospital and which is expected to be replicated in the rest of the country's public hospitals. The publication was presented yesterday in the auditorium of the institution.
The model proposed in the book is based on the prevention and promotion of health, what is a trauma surgical intensive care center, communication with the prehospital level, professionalization and continuing education courses, said Juan Carlos Salamea , specialist in trauma and emergency surgery and one of the editors of the book.
The document is the result of more than five years of work in which the doctors of the mentioned health house were involved and had the support of the Ministry of Public Health.
Salamea mentioned that 300 copies of the work were published with the collaboration of the Universidad del Azuay (UDA). In addition, it will be available in digital format for free download on the page: publications.uazuay.edu.ec/index.php/ceuazuay.
Besides using this model in the "Vicente Corral" hospital, the objective is to apply it in the public hospitals of Quito and Guayaquil. (PVI) - (I)
