Francisco Salgado, new rector of UDA

Francisco Salgado, representative of Más UDA Lista 1, was elected rector of the Universidad del Azuay, UDA, with a total of 61,42 percent of the votes of students, professors and administrative staff. The winning list reached the majority of the votes in the three classes: teachers, workers and students.


The new rector thanked the university community for having put their trust in him and his team, "we will work to build a university for all, with quality human beings that will allow us to return to being a category A university".


In the period as rector will be accompanied by Martha Cobos as academic vice-rector and Jacinto Guillén García as vice-rector for research.

 


The electoral process was carried out normally between the 12: 00 and 18: 00 yesterday and the 19: 00 provisional proclamation of results was made. The definitive proclamation will be after the end of the term for the challenge. 
3.260 students, 236 professors and 238 administrative staff participated in the process.


The voting results were as follows: List 1: 62,42 percent, List 2: 33,05 percent, null 1,38 percent, targets 0,09 percent and there was an 4,06 percent voter absenteeism.
