Scientific fair will expose "innovative projects"

Students of the Food Engineering career of the Universidad del Azuay (UDA) and its Academic Board have organized a scientific fair for innovative projects, the same one that will have as its opening day the next 4 of January of 2019.

Students from the fifth cycle onwards will participate in the fair, forming work teams, in relation to the study subjects of each level.

Technology

Young people in the fifth cycle will work in Dairy Technology; the seventh, in vegetable technology; the ninth in Dehydrated Fruits, exemplified by Karla Escandón and Cristina Quintero, student representatives. The students have prepared their projects with the tutoring of their teachers. Food technology is a scientific specialty aimed at preparing food, prolonging its shelf life and its conservation, maintaining its nutritional conditions and should not be confused with gastronomy, says Escandón.

Promotion

The students want, at the same time that they present their competence, to promote their career and the importance of it, so that they know how to work in the laboratories and other young people are motivated to follow these studies, which train professionals with the capacity to work in the industries or companies of food processing.
