UDA Faculty of Medicine celebrates its 15 years

The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Azuay (UDA) celebrated its fifteenth anniversary of foundation, with a solemn session of the Faculty Council, held last Thursday night in the auditorium of the UDA.

Recognition agreements from the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Ecuador (AFEME) and the Municipality of Cuenca were sent to the faculty and they were read during the session.

This study center, which trains future medical professionals, offered a tribute to the founding professors, who have contributed with their teaching to doctors, as well as to the local and national prestige of the faculty, which works with the goal of reaching to excellence, says a statement.

The honorees were the doctors: Hernán Sacoto Aguilar, Paúl Sánchez Gomezjurado, Víctor León Chérrez, Hernán Neira Maldonado, James Pilco Maldonado, Francisco Salgado Arteaga, Pablo Esquivel León. Also: Édgar Rodas Andrade (+) (his wife, Dolores Reinbach, received an agreement); and, Juan Urigüen Jerves, likewise, was received by his wife, María Isabel Eljuri.

The artistic group "La Tuna", of the UDA, acted at the end of the solemn session. In the Faculty of Medicine of the UDA their students attend the race for six years to obtain the degree of doctor, with the professional profile to work with the public and private sector with a focus of primary health care.
