The "Internet Governance Forum" Ecuador 2018 forum was held over the weekend in the UDA

The 'Internet Governance Forum' Ecuador 2018 forum was held over the weekend at the UDA.

 

At the University of Azuay, the forum 'Internet Governance Forum', IGF ECUADOR 2018, was held in which various sectors of society meet to discuss public policy related to Internet governance. The Minister of Education, Fander Falconí, was in charge of initiating the meeting with the paper "Building the social relationship based on an Internet of Confidence and Positive Social Networks".

 

Minister Falconí referred to the digital projects promoted by the National Government through the Ministry of Education in the field of education. He mentioned that the construction of the Digital Educational Agenda has been proposed allowing to contribute to the interrelation of the teacher-student within the classroom, he also referred to the Educar Ecuador platform that allows the reduction of the teacher's administrative time to dedicate it to developing a better time inside the classroom.

 

The IGF ECUADOR 2018 also had the participation of national and international prestigious exhibitors who made their presentations at the different work tables on: Academy, Cybersecurity, Economy and Development, Government and Civil Society.

 

The Internet Governance Forum is held every year in the member countries of the United Nations; this time it took place in Cuenca-Ecuador, with the coordination of the UN Technical Secretariat for Governance and Internet and the execution of the Ecuadorian Internet Governance Table (MEGI).

 

The objective of the meeting in different States is to have a local and decentralized vision of the experiences and practices of the region, to improve, empower and innovate; identify emerging problems and bring them to the attention of relevant agencies and the general public; and contribute to the creation of capacities for Internet governance.

 

The term Internet governance refers to the processes and rules that affect the way the Internet is managed, where governments play an important role in building an inclusive, development-oriented information society. . Governments perform functions ranging from supervision to the promotion of capacity building, research and development of technologies and standards.

 

The thirteenth Annual Meeting of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) will be organized by the Government of France at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris from the 12 to the 14 in November of 2018.
