Day for the reunion and longing
"As an alumnus, I think it will be a party ... we are all looking forward to seeing our classmates and getting back together with our friends ..." That is the feeling of Andrés Montalvo who is part of the approximately 10.000 exalumos of the University of Azuay (UDA) that today will participate in the "UDA 50 Years Commemorative Parade".
The concentration will be at 07: 30. The meeting points are distributed on Fray Vicente Solano Avenue, from April 12 Avenue to Aurelio Aguilar Street and the nearby intersections.
Each faculty will have a color to identify it, for example, for Philosophy, Letters and Education Sciences the color is fuchsia. In as much, Sciences of the Administration will use the purple one; Science and Technology, the blue; Design, Architecture and Art, the color yellow; Legal Sciences, red.
Also, Medicine will use the light blue color; Postgraduate the yellow color.
The authorities and administrative staff will be dressed in white and the staff of the Asunción Educational Unit of light blue color. Everyone who parades will also wear straw hats.
Event
The parade will begin at 09: 00, it was indicated from the Department of Social Communication of the UDA.
The music band of the Third Army Division Tarqui will open the parade to give way to the authorities, ex-authorities, administrative staff, staff of the La Asunción Educational Unit.
Then will come the Faculty of Philosophy, that of Administration, Science and Technology; Design, Architecture and Art; Legal Sciences, Medicine and Postgraduate. The music band of the Benigno Malo College will close the march.
Each faculty prepared a number to show it in its path, such as: dances, batucadas, floats, among others. In addition, the faculties, schools and promotions will carry a sign that identifies them.
The delegations will travel along Fray Vicente Solano Avenue to Florencia Astudillo Avenue. They will continue on this road until Avenida Del Estadio and there they will take Roberto Crespo Toral. The participants will walk along this street until they reach the 27 avenue of February at the height of the Fire School of Cuenca. From there they will continue until Francisco Moscoso and they will circulate until the junction of Avenida 24 de Mayo to enter the UDA towards the courtyards of the La Asunción Educational Unit.
It is expected that the parade arrives at the 10: 00 to the institution where an orchestra will animate the audience. A gastronomic fair and an exhibition of classic cars have also been prepared. The activities will conclude approximately at the 14: 00.
Preparation
The former students have been the most motivated and enthusiastic to participate in the party today, said Cristian Cobos, a graduate of the School of Tourism of the Faculty of Philosophy and representative of the alumni.
"The Faculty of Philosophy is the oldest and they have students from the first class," he said.
The expectation is great, said Cobos, who indicated that they began to organize since last April, three months before the announcement of the commemorative parade.
During the month of September, even the representatives of the alumni met on Wednesday of each week to coordinate what they will do.
For Diego Lara, alumnus of the Master's Degree in Accounting and Finance, 2011 promotion, the event is important for the city because of the contributions of the university for the development of it.
"Today we are going to meet to pay tribute to the city from the institution and also to let society know everything the university has contributed." Lara hopes to meet with her companions and is prepared for the parade.
