Directed by Carmen Vázquez and Angélica Galarza, the Festival Escenarios del Mundo presents today, at the 11: 30 and 20: 00, at the Pumapungo Theater, the Dance Company of the University of Azuay (UDA), with "La Bernarda Alba's house ". It is a contemporary version of one of the most famous works of the Spanish writer Federico García Lorca.

In this proposal, dancers explore repression, passion and submission and inquire into the complexity of relationships between men and women. Bernarda, after being widowed for the second time, decides to live the next eight years in rigorous mourning. He forbids his daughters to leave home and have any kind of relationship, according to the tradition of his family.

In this story we see how, in the confinement, the discovery of repressed intimacy and a subtle, revealing and rich arch of feminine feelings embodied in the daughters of Bernarda emerge.

The Dance Company of the UDA dares to take the challenge, face it and adapt this work to its characteristic language of experimental dance.
