Cuencanos in the advisory committee of ARCSA

The National Agency for Health Regulation, Control and Surveillance (ARSCA) formed and took possession of the ARSCA Committee of External Experts, made up of nine professionals in health and research. 

From now on they will be in charge of advising and making recommendations to the institution for the development of technical regulations and protocols for optimal health surveillance in Ecuador. 

 

The professionals chosen to integrate this advisory commission were selected for their trajectory and contributions to the scientific community inside and outside the country. 

These specialists have expertise in pharmacology, biochemistry, molecular biology, biologics, genetics, biotechnology, among other fields. 

 

Professionals 

They are Fausto Zaruma Torres, dean of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences at the University of Cuenca and Fray Martínez Reyes, research professor at the University of Azuay. 

Also: Mónica Tarapués, consultant for the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and Ruth Jimbo Sotomayor, Undersecretary for Strengthening the National Health System of the Vice Presidency of the Republic. 

 

There are also Sonia Zapta Mena, research professor at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito, and Ruth Martinez Espinosa, professor and researcher at the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL). 

Likewise, Jesús Romero Lugo, professor at the University of the Americas (UDLA); Shirley Tenesaca Cayambe, researcher attached to the University of Navarra (Spain), among others.
