Conversation about an ancestral culture in the UDA

Next Tuesday in the multipurpose room of the University of Azuay, UDA, will take place the conversation entitled, Symbology of the Cañari culture, from the 11: 00. Three connoisseurs of this civilization have been invited.


Organized by the School of Design of the UDA and the Inter-American Center of Crafts and Popular Arts, CIDAP, this meeting is promoted in order to address the ancestral knowledge, the symbols applied to textile crafts and their daily activities in the community.
This academic-cultural meeting will have the participation of the anthropologist Tamara Landívar, the teacher of the Intercultural Bilingual Institute Quilloac, José Acero, and the artisan and researcher Cañari Jacinto Aguaiza.
From their research and experiences, they will share everything they know about this ancestral culture, of which there is little evidence and bibliography, according to scholars of this subject.

Admission to the event on Tuesday has no cost, is open to all audiences and is expected the attendance of students, teachers and researchers who want to get closer to the knowledge of this culture.
