Commerce, industry and construction: "Innovation Rally CCTT 2018"

The Association of Students of Science and Technology of the UDA coordinates contest to propose solutions

What to do with the waste generated in construction, as they are an environmental problem and an economic disadvantage due to the impact they produce in the countries.

They are also an economic obstacle because citizens, in some way, must pay for the processing of construction waste, called debris.

This is one of the major problems proposed by the students of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Azuay (UDA), for which they will present projects in the "II Innovation Rally CCTT 2018" that will be carried out by 7 at 10 of December.

Another issue that they seek to solve is sales and the industry to create a marketing platform for small and medium-sized businesses in Cuenca, so that there is adequate and direct communication between suppliers and buyers.

Companies

These and other topics will be analyzed in the next Rally, with the aim of involving them in the generation of solutions not only students but teachers, through proposals with the support of public and private companies, informs Ángeles Andrade, president of the Association of Science and Technology .

For this activity, they have the backing of Cuenca's Technological Center for Construction, a non-profit private public corporation that sponsors this Rally.

Confirm that the rubble is a big problem, getting rid of this construction waste has a high cost in the logistics part and in the value of the land to locate them.

The interest of this Center, says its executive director, Ramón Valdivieso, is to promote the development of new technologies aimed at improving compatibility with the environment and, on the other hand, to represent new ventures that serve economic development and improvement in the construction

Team

Pedro Crespo, subdecano of the Faculty, applauds this initiative of the students, considering that it will place them in "real fields and will have the opportunity to put into practice what they have learned because they will face challenges when dealing with real-life problems of the city and the country" .

Andrés Alvarado, Marketing Manager of Mutualista Azuay, informs that they will support this Rally because it is a serious event, whose initiatives will be presented before a Committee.

Multidisciplinary teams will be formed between five students and a teacher from the UDA and there will be a jury that will have 72 hours to evaluate the projects according to: innovation, sustainability, profitability and development.

On Monday 10 of December at 18: 00 will be announced to finalists and winners.

THE DATA

Participating in the Rally has no cost; the organizers will give a diploma of participation to all and economic prize and recognition to the first and second place of the contest.

This activity emerged as a pilot test of the School of Production Engineering; for this year, in its new version, it was linked with public-private companies.
