CICOM analyzed communication role in Latin America

The 6, 7 and 8 of June developed the "I International Congress of Communication (CICOM)", UNDER THE THEME: Communication for Sustainability. The event was organized by the University of Azuay (UDA), the School of Social Communication and Arts of the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil and the Private Technical University of Loja, with the support of the Global Compact and the Ecuadorian Consortium of Social Responsibility.

This space constituted a forum open to scientific research and to the exhibition of experiences in: Public Relations, Strategic Communication and Politics; Advertising, Marketing and Communication; Digital Communication, Innovation and Technology; Sustainability and Social Responsibility, Journalism and Citizenship that were analyzed from different Latin American perspectives and latitudes.

In addition, papers were received that will be published in the Book of Proceedings in digital format on the Congress website, with its own ISBN, and / or in scientific journals related to the subject.

For his part, Francisco Salgado, rector of the UDA, thanked the participants and those who made this Congress possible. Through a public recognition, the University Council issued an "Agreement" for Ana María Durán G. for her academic and research contribution, as well as the designation of "Honorary Professor" to María Aparecida F. for her contribution to human and academic work . The rector, congratulated for the scientific contribution of the Congress and invited to participate in a second opportunity.

The CICOM program opened the annual event "Tinta Tinto, Conecta Mundos" with the talk "Towards the consolidation of the Social Web: the municipal entities and their adoption to 2.0 technologies" by the exhibitor Valeriano Piñeiro Naval. On this occasion, Tinta Tinto received 180 works from the student meeting and awarded their winners at the gala dance held in Quinta Lucrecia.
