Alliance Française and UDA demolish barriers

A wall of more than 40 years has collapsed and now, without barriers, there is a common atmosphere between the French Alliance and the headquarters of the Legal Office of the University of Azuay (UDA).
Jean-Baptiste Chauvin, Ambassador of France in Ecuador, together with Francisco Salgado, rector of the UDA; Carmen Moreno, Honorary Consul of France; and, Antoine Lissourge, director of the Alliance Française de Cuenca, toured the site, noted the work, highlighting that it is a work for this city.
Lissourge pointed out that the work is part of an integration project with the aim of strengthening that sector as a cultural pole. The tour was guided by those responsible for the infrastructure.
A ramp will integrate the two spaces that have architectural elements that allow merging two different buildings: the modern construction of the Alliance building with the traditional architecture of the buildings that are attached to it.
And between the UDA and the Alliance there are spaces and common interests: the two entities are open to service to the community, both have a gallery for exhibitions, these aspects constitute the basis for enhancing the space, even with the installation of a cafeteria open to the public. The agreement between the Alliance and the UDA was achieved last year, taking into account that the two entities have a great cultural and academic commitment. The cooperation between the two is not now. Ambassador Jean-Baptiste Chauvin said that this partnership with the UDA for the cultural field results from the effort put into the work. "It is pertinent to meet for projects like these, because they will bring benefits to the two institutions," said the diplomat.

Each event to be fulfilled on this site will be a way to strengthen the neighborhood and the city. The integration will be seen in the activities that are done together.
