¨9 million thanks¨ to various institutions

The National Government only has words of thanks for the public and private companies that collaborated in the objective of the Vaccination Plan 9/100: to inoculate 9 million people in 100 days.

In this context, the Zonal Coordination 6 of Health held an event this Thursday in the auditorium of the University of Azuay (UDA), called "Nine million thanks", to recognize the support provided by different entities.

“9 million thanks in the first place to the Government of the Meeting in the people of Mr. Guillermo Lasso and Dr. Alfredo Borrero for the wise decision to give priority to the Vaccination Plan as the first step to undertake in the recovery of the country, understanding that health of its population is the essential and essential element to carry out any planning, a decision that motivated them to convene a national minga commanded by Dr. Ximena Garzón ”, highlighted Fausto Idrovo, Health Zone Coordinator 6.

"9 million unquestionably deserve the institutions and public and private organizations that hurried and committed responded to the call without sparing efforts or putting conditions and stepped up to control the pandemic, contributing with whatever was necessary and within their reach," he said.

Likewise, he extended his gratitude to Esteban Bernal, who in his position as governor promised from the beginning of the campaign to carry out the pertinent steps, support and organization; Cantonal and parochial GAD's that comprise Zone 6: Azuay, Cañar and Morona Santiago; Army, National Police, Red Cross, Fire Department, Citizen Guard, Citizen Oversight; Academy, represented by the universities: State of Cuenca, Politécnica Salesiana, del Azuay and Católica, as well as the Institutes of Higher Education; Private company, which, organized in the Chambers of Commerce, Industries, Small Industry and Business Groups, generously contributed with equipment, supplies, human talent, food, spaces and motivation.

Finally, he recognized the work carried out by the Zona 6 Health team, which "overcoming fears and difficulties gave themselves completely to the activities they carried out on the front line", and the role of the media, "essential in the dissemination that allowed to convene an orderly and effective immunization ”.

At the end of his speech, he asked for applause from the "four surviving heroes" of the accident that occurred days ago in the Kuserua border community, belonging to the Taisha canton, as they returned on a day of vaccination.

"Heroes in white apron"

In this emotional act, the work carried out by the sacrificed vaccination teams was also exalted.

Dr. David Ledesma spoke on behalf of these "white-apron heroes."

“A few months ago when the pandemic began, the outlook was very uncertain; We were afraid, despite being health personnel, we did not know what was to come, but we did know that we should be at the forefront of the battle ”.

The doctor stated that “as a representative of the entire health team that was on the front line 24 hours a day, seven days a week, being fundamental in the goal set, I want to thank my colleagues who participated in the campaign… Today we are reaping the fruits , but we must not lower our guard, we must maintain biosecurity measures ".
