The Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital (HVCM) announced that from this Wednesday, Medicine and Nursing students can put into practice their theoretical knowledge directed by the professionals of this health house.

In this context, the students of the Universidad Católica Cuenca and Azogues extension, Universidad de Cuenca and Universidad del Azuay will complete a year of internship from the current month and will rotate through four areas of the hospital: Surgery, Clinic, Pediatrics and Gynecology-Obstetrics .

Once this stage is completed, they will be ready to attend to the patients in the operating units where they will later carry out their year of rural health. "The rotating internship aims to apply the knowledge, skills and abilities acquired in the universities, with the leadership of the professionals of the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital and their university tutors, who have great expertise in different areas, which will allow them to face in his future professional practice, ”said Cristina León, director of the Teaching and Research Unit of this health operational unit.

On his side, Thais Cardoso, a medical student at the University of Azuay, who began his rotation in the Surgery service, highlighted that he arrives with great expectations. "I am very excited to start the internship at this hospital, my expectation is to learn a lot from the doctors who are going to teach us everything they know to be good professionals and serve the population."
