Webinar on Corporate Responsibility

On June 16, the University of Azuay - in conjunction with the Faculty of Administration Sciences and its School of Administration - presented the webinar called: "Finance and Social Responsibility", given by the Colombian master José Luis Villarreal.

The exhibitor addressed the issue of contemporary business management, which responds to the needs of a complex and changing world.

For this reason, this management focuses its main attention on the best corporate governance practices in search of the creation of values with a financial, social and environmental focus, to contribute to its sustainable development.

Villareal began his speech with a phrase from Silvio Sánchez, former Rector of the University of Nariño: “As long as there are dreams, there will be life”, this phrase has great meaning for the speaker, as he invited the students to accompany their dreams and personal goals in the process of life and make them come true.

On the other hand, Villareal divided the talk into three topics: the current context of the existing challenges in the workplace; corporate social responsibility, and finally the relationship between finance.

He also addressed how to manage the company, investigating which are the optimal levels of productivity, profitability and indebtedness; This is important for all businesses, small and large.

For all of them, "the best practices of social and corporate responsibility" are necessary, which are rarely used since many entrepreneurs are only concerned that the business will obtain large profits.

That is why corporate social responsibility is a constant contribution to social, technological, economic and environmental improvement.

The speaker also pointed out that consumption habits must be rethought, to take care of life and promote development on a human scale.
