On April 09th, the University of Azuay and its Faculty of Medicine inaugurated the Concepts Congress, the 1st Inter-University Assembly of Emergency Medicine Residents. The launch of the book "Memories Concepts Cuenca 2026" was also held, an event aligned with the sustainable development goals.
The event was attended by authorities, professors, administrative staff and students from our university community, speakers, authors and the general public.
At the start of the event, the Rector of the University of Azuay, Francisco Salgado, mentioned that it is an important event for the university, the city and the country, as we welcome international speakers with great experience, as well as outstanding health professionals and academics from the country, who share their experience and knowledge during these two days of the congress, he emphasized.
Juan Pablo Holguín, a professor at the Faculty of Medicine and compiler of the book, mentioned that this book has “many ideas, many proposals, reflections, which in turn anticipate several discussions that are raised at the congress. This book reflects what is known so far, what is still under debate and what could be questioned to continue generating more learning. Behind each page there is intention, there is academic rigor,” he emphasized.
With the end of the formal ceremony, the presentations by the experts began.
