UDA celebrates Ecuadorian Pride day

9:58 am The organizers are observed giving the final touches to the University Square, to be able to start with the program in honor of the Ecuadorian pride day, which is celebrated every September 24 -for three years- thanks to the initiative of the Corporation Much Better Ecuador, in order to stimulate the consumption of products made in the country.

The guests begin to arrive little by little and surround the place. In front of the General Auditorium, an arch of tricolor balloons is the background of the stage through which Rector Francisco Salgado welcomes the event and continues with his speech, recommending that the same be consumed: "Only by supporting what is ours will the country prosper."

In addition, local consumption helps the environment, which is currently a subject of great interest and value, due to the negative consequences that are occurring as an effect of global warming.

Subsequently, Augusto Tosi, Chairman of the Board of the Corporación Mucho Mejor Ecuador, takes the floor, who states that “a quality Ecuador must be recognized, because we are no longer in the old days when being Ecuadorian meant being inferior, now we are doing better ”.

Following the speeches, an invitation is made to participate in traditional games. The first is that of the well-known enchanted pots, which - decorated with tissue paper in the colors of the flag - hang from two trees in the Plazoleta.

The first participant to be awarded a wooden stick to hit the pot full of sweets is the Academic Vice-Rector, Martha Cobos, followed by Augusto Tosi and the Rector.

Amid laughter and applause, we proceed to the next and last activity, which is the spinning dance, in which all those who believe they are capable of achieving it enter to participate.

And although several try and not all succeed, you can see the satisfaction of the contestants who smile gratefully for the opportunity to play.
