Three 2018 trends that you should apply to your products
Claudia Polo, recognized fashion designer of the city, spoke about the trends of the design market in a conference for entrepreneurs and designers of the city. The event was organized by the University of Azuay and the Chamber of the Small Industry of Azuay (CAPIA). In this article we collect the three most important trends.
1 Your company has to be sustainable: Communicate all social responsibility efforts made by your company and make sure you have all the certifications that support your values and that allow you to participate in an international market with a competitive advantage.
"Today's consumer will always prefer that they have a sustainable seal, fair trade or that they have a green conscience," commented Polo.
2 Keep in mind audiences ignored by big companies: Do not just look at the stereotypes of fashion: thin and beautiful young people. Go further and focus on niche markets that nobody takes into account. In Cuenca, men's fashion is one of the forgotten markets and they require innovative products.
"Older adults are a group that have high purchasing power in society that needs an offer with fashion and that goes far beyond the traditional. There are influencers of the elderly who demand attention to this group, "explained Polo.
3 Keep in mind the international style and color trends: This year we leave behind the millennial pink and the purple violet is crowned as the color of the 2018. On the other hand, there are two styles that must be taken into account: The hygge that describes a state of wellbeing that is created through textures that generate comfort and the psychotropic that is inspired by our Amazon and is a fusion of psychedelia with tropical .
"These styles are ideal to apply in this year's Christmas collections," says Polo.
