"Uncle Fox and Uncle Rabbit", a story by Paula Martínez

"Uncle Fox and Uncle Rabbit", a story by Paula Martínez

On November 28, the University of Azuay together with its Publishing House, presented the children's book "Tío Raposo y Tío Conejo" by the author Paula Martínez Donoso, who has more than 23 years of experience in artistic education and aesthetic mediation.

The event was attended by authorities, teachers, administrative staff and students of our institution, children from the Centro de Educación Inicial Particular (CEIAP), friends and family of the author and the general public.

The story is a tale of inclusion that comes to life through two iconic characters from the popular culture of Azuay and Cañar. The verses flow like the oral tradition that it seeks to preserve and the illustrations evoke the colors of the earth and the countryside.

The event began with the words of Genoveva Malo, academic vice-rector of the University of Azuay, who said with emotion that it was beautiful to see the library transformed into a garden full of music and children, which shows us another meaning of the university: the humanistic sense of touching hearts and reaching the little ones, transforming life with education. She concluded her speech by sharing an anecdote about the moment when the author read the book to them for the first time, it was then that she understood how deeply rooted it was in the culture and the importance of what it conveyed.

Juan Martínez, a commentator on the work, thanked all the people who made the publication and presentation of the book possible. He then shared his thoughts and created an emotional connection between the book and the author's life.

The book launch was led by Paula Martínez, the author of the story, who thanked her family and the University for their support and then spoke to the children in a dynamic and emotional way, narrating the story, filling the moment with laughter and happiness.
