The University of Azuay is the only one that offers a Food Engineering degree in the city of Cuenca, which is why the School's commitment is to try to train the largest number of high school graduates in a key area such as the processing of what everyone the days we take to the mouth.

The workshops are based on food processing and their handling and hygiene. The students need to have an education in these subjects since at present there are many processed foods and it is necessary to know what is healthy and beneficial for health.

With this, the race seeks to provide knowledge in the management of dairy products, vegetables and farinaceous to students and that these are extended to their families.

A future objective of the race is to extend the reception and invitation to schools in other cantons, such as Paute, where a specialized agro-industry school is located.
