Personal development workshops on emotional intelligence

On Saturdays, May 5 and 12, personal development workshops on emotional intelligence took place in the Philosophy classrooms of the University of Azuay, led by teachers Xavier Muñoz and Mario Moyano.

The workshops were held in conjunction with the Philosophy Students Association, the UDA Student Federation (UDAFE) and tenth cycle students of the School of Organizational Psychology, all under the coordination of the Academic Vice-Rector's Office.

The activity was aimed at second and third year students with a history of active participation and involvement with the University of Azuay.

“The Career Coordinators determined 5 students, who they consider to have a feeling of belonging to the university, and do not hold managerial positions. For these people, the university is promoting spaces for personal development, ”said Mario Moyano.

According to Xavier Muñoz, there is an interest on the part of the University that all its students have greater personal development and emotional growth, therefore, it was decided to empower a group of students with this knowledge so that they can deploy it in different spaces.

The workshop was developed under a constructivist methodology of "active meaningful learning", where each participant gets involved in the activities, analyzes the results of that experience and translates them into his daily life

"It seemed like a good workshop to the extent that they taught us how to recognize our feelings, how to express them and be able to balance them in certain situations both personally and at work," said Jaime Bravo, a student who participated in this activity.

The students who received the workshop will contribute in the next cycle with the Life Project that is carried out with first year students.
