Doctoral Symposium on Renewable Natural Resources
On September 26, the University of Azuay together with the University of Cuenca held the Symposium on the Doctorate in Renewable Natural Resources; an event in harmony with the principle of care that inspires our University, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
The event was attended by authorities, teachers and researchers from our university community and the University of Cuenca.
This symposium is an essential part of the doctoral program. In this space, students defend their research programs and present the progress of their different investigations. In addition, expert researchers participate, who share their findings and knowledge development in the different research areas of the program.
The welcoming remarks were made by Raffaella Ansaloni, Vice-Rector for Research at our institution, who expressed her pleasure at the inauguration of this Doctoral Symposium, where the progress of research is shared; she also pointed out the importance of expressing the role that universities have in the face of the problems addressed and the immediate solutions that are obtained thanks to research.
In turn, María Augusta Hermida, rector of the University of Cuenca, addressed the audience, pointing out the importance of promoting these spaces, where doctoral students present their research and share knowledge.
Once the opening ceremony was over, the first keynote lecture was given by Juan Pablo Rodríguez, on the topic “Nature-based solutions for adaptation to climate change”.
